The build

How it came together.

This 1LE arrived with a big custom cam already installed and a request that is harder than it sounds: make the power, but keep it civil. A large cam and stock-like drivability pull against each other, and the calibration is where that fight gets settled.

The heads came off for CNC porting — the same LS3 program we run on our own flow bench, opening the runners and unshrouding the chambers so the cam actually has something to work with.

With the heads off, we found mistakes from the customer’s own cam installation. Those were corrected at no charge. Left alone, they would very likely have cost the engine later.

The result was more power with the manners intact, which on a big-cam car is the part that takes the experience.

In the owner's words

Had my 2015 Camaro SS 1LE tuned by Erin, also had him port my heads. Not only did he do a fantastic job and get more power out of it as well as keeping drivability damn near stock (had a pretty big custom cam so not an easy task), but he also found some mistakes I had made when installing my cam and fixed them while he had my heads off free of charge, definitely saving my engine in the long run.
