Fifty horsepower the last tuner left behind.
A cammed 2016 HEMI that never ran right after a remote email tune — sorted in person, and left making 50 more horsepower than the previous tuner found.
What went into it.
How it came together.
Finding someone who can properly tune a cammed HEMI is genuinely hard, and this owner had already learned that the expensive way. The car had a cam and supporting mods, tuned remotely over email, and it simply never ran right — with issues the original tuner could not resolve.
A remote tune is a map written for an assumed combination. It cannot feel a car, it cannot watch knock behave in real conditions, and it cannot react to what one specific engine actually does. On a cammed engine, where idle quality and part-throttle manners are the difficult part, that gap shows up immediately.
Tuned in person, the driveability problems were resolved, and the car made 50 horsepower more than the previous tune had found. That power was already in the engine. It had simply never been accessed.
A follow-up call went out the next day to check how it was running.
First off I have a 2016 hemi. Finding a good tuner for a hemi is hard to come by. I did a cam and other upgrades and got it tuned via email by another tuner... but it just wouldn't run right and couldn't figure it out! So I brought my car to CARMA with a couple issues the previous tuner couldn't fix! Erin knocked it out of the park! Was able to fix my issues and on top of that was able to get an additional 50 HP more than what the other tuner got. Very next day, I get a follow up asking how it's running.
